鈥淎lison鈥� was the District Sales Manager for a major insurance company. Unfortunately, she had been struggling with Multiple Sclerosis for many years.  After working for almost 30 years for this company and achieving significant professional success, she was denied long term disability benefits under both a group policy and an individual policy issued by her employer.

鈥淕eorge鈥� was a 42 year old comptroller at an investment bank. He completed and filed his own application for benefits with the insurance company. When the insurance company requested that George attend an interview with one of its field representatives, George sought legal help and was referred to Riemer Hess by another attorney.

Karen, a Corporate Librarian in New York City, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2009.  She suffers from the disease鈥檚 debilitating symptoms including pain throughout her body, paresthesias with burning and numbness in her extremities, imbalance, debilitating fatigue, bradykinesia, cognitive dysfunction, and vision loss.  As her medical conditions progressed, it became more and more difficult for Karen to communicate effectively with her clients and perform her job functions.  She grew concerned that she might be terminated.

On Sunday, December 15, 2013, attorney Scott M. Riemer volunteered at the Legal Day of the New York City Chapter of the MS Society. The Legal Day is an annual event that permits individuals suffering from Multiple Sclerosis to obtain legal help from a group of volunteer lawyers of various specialties. This year, because of the snow storm, participating individuals received telephone consultations instead of face-to-face meetings. Mr. Riemer has been volunteering for the MS Society Legal Day for over 10 years.

On Sunday, November 11, 2012, Scott M. Riemer volunteered at the Legal Day of the New York City Chapter of the MS Society. The Legal Day provides the opportunity for individuals suffering from Multiple Sclerosis to meet with lawyers of various specialties to discuss legal issues. Mr. Riemer met with individuals pertaining to long term disability claims. Mr. Riemer has been a participant at the MS Society Legal Day for over 10 years.
